New Review about Pro-Resolving Lipid Mediators and Therapeutic Approaches for Vascular Remodeling

Our group has contribute to sumarize all new data available about pro-resolving lipid mediators and their therapeutic approaches for vascular remodelling.

Cardiovascular diseases are usually associated with vascular remodeling. These alterations, are atributable to an excesive inflammation, but also to unresolved inflammation that might contribute to different aspects of vascular diseases.

As the review explains, "resolution of inflammation is mediated by a family of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) that limit immune cell infiltration and initiate tissue repair mechanisms".

Different experimental models suggest that SPMs may play a key role in the protection against vascular remodeling associated to different pathologies.

So, the aim of this review is to focus "on the latest advances in understanding the role of SPMs in vascular cells and their therapeutic effects in the vascular remodeling associated with different cardiovascular diseases."
